The "Crimson Velvet" is a fictional location/setting created by Fantom Fox for an original story and for use in Vampire: the Masquerade campaigns prior to the "Time of Judgment" (2004). It is a night club/bar set in a non-specific location in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. It works best with Vampire or Vampire-crossover campaigns, although it has been seen in other worlds in slightly different forms. As with all roleplaying settings, details may vary with storytellers' discretion.

Those who work at the Crimson Velvet are hand-chosen by the owner. They cater to a wide variety of clientele. Whether you are looking for strip and drag shows, live local music, private parties, or the "regular" club scene, the Crimson Velvet strives to please. (Please see our official webpage for more details and event schedules.) The nightly VIP list includes some of the most wealthy and powerful of the supernatural underworld: vampires, shapeshifters, demons, thieves, assassins, and others.
There's even something for the daytime crowd. After sunrise and before sunset, the club is turned into a coffee shop, unique with its slightly darker bent to the daily routine.

"Open the doors. Welcome to my World."

Club layout: (not quite to scale)

"Far up Bourbon Street, the crowds thinned out, replaced by a darker and more secretive bunch. The shops here ran a little more wild and were less populated. On one side of the street, a short flight of stairs led to an ornate set of dark wooden double doors inlaid with roses. The doors were solid and a lot heavier than they looked. There were no windows on the first floor.

"The inside of the club was mostly dark except for a few track lights along the walls. Immediately in front of the door, a few stairs led down to a floor scattered with tables. Far to the right sat a particularly comfortable set of red velvet couches. Down the steps and to the left were more of the same couches, set out for a club-goer's relaxation farther from the pulse of the dance floor. The stairs opened first to a wide area scattered with tables and chairs. The far left corner held a circular bar. To the right and down another small set of stairs, the dance floor took almost a full half of the club. Set a few feet above the dance floor, a stage and catwalk was provided for the dancers who worked in the club. It was the location for shows and exhibitions.

"The whole club was in shades of matte black and red. The flat colors surrounded, except for the tasteful velvet drapes that lined all the walls, because the matte did not reveal a person's reflection (or lack thereof). When a breeze blew through the dark club, the velvet rippled like waves, sparkling in the dim light before time came for the club to open its doors.

"When that time came, a few short hours after sunset, the music would pulse and the lights would swirl through a crowd of every type of being. No one was excluded here. Every desire was ready to be fulfilled... if you knew how to ask for it."

In addition to the club on the first floor, the building has 3 more floors above. The second floor contains Katrina and Maxwell's offices as well as the personal bedrooms (and bathrooms) for each member of the full-time staff. The third and fourth floors house bedrooms and "playrooms" of all designs, for many many different purposes. Anything a person could want can be found somewhere in the expanse of the building that holds the Crimson Velvet.
